Carrier Guide & Porting FAQ

To transfer your number to CREDO Mobile (also known as "porting"), you will need to supply us with your account information and PIN from your current carrier. Below is a guide to the most common carriers. Please have this information on hand when you join CREDO Mobile so we can port your number without delay.

If you don’t see your current carrier on the list below, contact them to find out what information you need to give us to release your number to CREDO Mobile.

AT&T

  • Account number
  • No PIN needed

Metro PCS

  • Account number (9 digits)
  • PIN (generally 8-digit birthdate unless you've changed it)

Sprint

  • Account number
  • PIN (6-10 digits)

T-Mobile

  • Account number
  • PIN (You will need to call T-Mobile to get this)

T-Mobile Prepaid

  • Account number (your 10-digit phone number with 1 in front)
  • PIN - To set a PIN, dial 611, say "no" to refill, choose "manage my account," choose "change my account PIN," then set your 4-digit PIN

US Cellular

  • Account number
  • PIN (4 digits)

Verizon

  • Account number - The format is 000000000-00000 but should be entered in our port form without the dash. It can be found in your account online by going to My Verizon > Account > Account Overview - account number listed at top
  • PIN - This may be a number or password. If it hasn't been changed, it will likely be the last 4 digits of the account holder's SSN. If you don't know your billing PIN, you'll need to reset it by calling Verizon Customer Support at 800-922-0204.

Verizon Prepaid

  • Account number (Your 10-digit phone number)
  • PIN (4-digit password that you use to access your account from your phone)

FAQ

How long will the port take?

If we have all the correct information from your current carrier, most ports will complete in 1-3 hours. At minimum, we will need the account holder’s name, account number and billing address. If there’s a PIN associated to the account, we will need that too.

When will the port happen?

The port will initiate when you activate your new CREDO Mobile phone at credomobile.com/activate. Please activate your new phone(s) within 10 days of your ship date, otherwise activation will happen automatically.

Should I call my current provider to cancel when I port my number?

No. This could cause you to lose your phone number. When you initiate your port, your line on your previous account will automatically cancel.

Will porting my number out automatically cancel my current service?

In most cases, yes. However, if you’re not transferring all the numbers from your current carrier, then your account will remain open with that carrier, with the other lines still active on that account.

What should I do if my number has not ported over after 6 hours?

First, please check credomobile.com/activate (with your CREDO Mobile order number or the phone number you’re porting, plus your billing ZIP code) for any status messages. If you still have questions, then call customer service at 800-411-0848 for assistance.
