You should fully charge your new phone before you begin using it. Plug in your phone and charge your battery for 24 hours.
- Turn on your phone by pressing and holding the Power/Lock button (on the top right side of the phone) for three seconds.
- Tap the Main tab on your phone's screen. Then tap Settings > Activate > Yes.
- After one to two minutes, you'll see the welcome screen. Tap Start on your screen to begin activation.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to activate your new phone.
- After each entry or selection, tap Next. On the final screen, tap Done to complete your activation and restart your phone.
- When you see your new phone number displayed, you may want to write it down for reference.
We also suggest downloading the latest software update to ensure that your phone runs smoothly. To do so, tap Main and then select Settings > General > Update Software. If a software update is available, you'll be prompted to update your phone by tapping Install; otherwise, tap OK to exit.

- To turn on your phone , press and hold the Power/Lock button.
- Press the
button.
- Tap the Dialer tab.
- Enter the 7-digit or 10-digit number you want to call.
- Tap on the Green number icon at the top of the screen that contains the number you are trying to call.
- Press
and tap the Dialer tab.
- Tap and hold the number 1 icon.
- Now simply follow the prompts to:
- Create your password, a number from 4 to 10 digits.
- Record your name (you have 10 seconds).
- Record your greeting (you have 30 seconds).
Your phone can store up to 600 Contacts entries.
- Press
and tap Contacts.
- From the upper left of the Contacts page, tap
to begin creating a new Contacts entry. The screen is reoriented to display in Landscape mode.
- Tap the Enter Name field, then slide out and use the keyboard to enter a name for the new entry.
- Tap the Add Number field, and use the keyboard to enter the phone number.
- Use the navigation keys or tap an empty white area to the left of the newly entered number and select a label for the entry (Mobile, Home, Work, Pager or Others).
- Press
and tap Contacts.
- Tap
to edit the Contact entry’s information.
- Use your fingertip to scroll up and down the screen and tap any of the fields.
- Use your keyboard to update the information on this page.
- Tap Done to save the new updates.
Your phone can store up to eight phone numbers on the Speed Dial screen. Entries appear as icons in the order you added them. To change their order, you must delete and re-add the entries in your desired order on the Speed Dial screen.
- Press
to launch the Speed Dial screen (loaded by default).
- To begin adding an existing number, tap
.
- Use your fingertip to scroll through the available list of Contacts entries.
- Tap the name of a Contacts entry you wish to add. If the entry has more than one number, the Assign a Speed Dial page lets you choose from a list of available numbers for the entry.
- Tap an available phone number and assign it to the available location on the Speed Dial screen. The icons to the left of the phone number correspond to their previously selected label.
- Press
and tap Main > Messaging.
- Tap
to compose a new text message.
- Select the contact entry method you prefer by tapping an associated option:
- Recent List to select a recipient from a list of recently sent messages.
- Contacts to select a recipient from your Contacts (qualifying Contacts entries must contain a wireless phone number or an e-mail address).
- Manual Entry to manually enter a destination by choosing either:
- Enter phone number to use the onscreen dial pad to enter a wireless phone number. Tap Done to save the entry.
- Enter Email Address to use the keyboard to enter the recipient’s e-mail address. Tap Done to save the entry.
- Use the keyboard to enter a message.
- Add more recipients by tapping
and repeating step 3.
- Review your message and tap Send.
- Press
and tap Main > Messaging.
- Tap
to compose a new text message.
- Select the contact entry method you prefer by tapping an associated option:

Taking pictures with your phone’s built-in camera is as simple as choosing a subject, pointing the lens, and pressing a button.

and hold once to activate camera mode.

- Using the phone’s main display screen as a viewfinder, aim the camera lens at your subject.
- Press
until the shutter sounds. The picture will automatically be saved into the current default storage location (in phone by default).
Important: Photos can be stored in either the phone's internal memory or on a microSD™ card (sold separately). Your phone’s internal memory contains 100MB of storage capacity; it can support microSD cards of up to 32GB.
Facebook is a popular free-access social networking website where users can join networks organized by various criteria and then interact with other connected people. Users can add friends, send messages, and update their personal profiles to notify friends about new ideas, actions, status, etc.
Note: Before continuing with these steps, you must first have an active Facebook account.
- Press
and tap Fun > Facebook.
- Tap the Email and Password fields and then enter your information using the keyboard.
- Tap Login to continue to the site.
Twitter and MySpace applications are also available on your Samsung Seek.
- Press
and tap Fun > Music.
- You can copy MP3 files from your computer using a microSD card. MicroSD cards are available for purchase separately.
- In a text-entry screen, slide open the QWERTY keyboard. (The display automatically adjusts to landscape mode.)
- Use your thumbs to enter text.
- To change capitalization, press the shift key in the lower left corner.
- To enter alternate characters on a key, press the Fn ("Function") key and then press the desired key. To lock the Fn key (as when entering a series of numbers), press it twice.
Press
and tap Fun > Shopping.
Your phone’s e-mail application lets you access and manage multiple e-mail accounts in one convenient location.
- Press
and tap Main > Email > Next. (The e-mail setup wizard will guide you through the setup process.)
- Select an e-mail provider (such as Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail, Gmail or AOL Mail).

Select More to choose from additional options. Here you may add your own POP or IMAP e-mail accounts manually.
- Tap I Agree if you are prompted to accept any license agreements or disclaimers.
- Follow the setup instructions to enter the required sign-up information by tapping the associated gray field and then using the keyboard. Tap Done to save the new information.
- Tap Done once you’ve entered your sign-in information.
- Tap Next > Next to continue the sign-in process, request network access, save your settings and retrieve data from your e-mail system.
- Press
and tap Main > Email. (The phone then launches either your first e-mail account in the list or your last active e-mail account.)
- From the upper left of the e-mail account page, press the current account’s associated icon to reveal the Email home page.
- Tap Add New Email Account to return to the Setup New Account page. This is where you can now add additional e-mail accounts.
- Use the e-mail setup procedures outlined in the "Getting Started with Email" Section. If you select an additional e-mail address from the same provider, you will have to enter a unique name for each entry.
- Press
and tap Main > Calendar.
- Tap Add Calendar > Gmail.
- Enter your Gmail login information. Tap Next.
