Transfer contacts from a Samsung Seek

You can transfer contacts from your Samsung Seek to your new HTC EVO Shift 4G using Bluetooth. While there are a number of steps, the whole process should take no more than 5 or 10 minutes. Just follow the instructions below, switching back and forth between the two phones as indicated.

1. From your home screen, tap Main.  
2. Tap Bluetooth.  
3. If Bluetooth is on, skip to the next step. If not, tap Off to enable it.  
  4.  If you’re not already on the home screen press android home icon.
  5. Press android menu icon.
  6. Tap Settings.
  7. Tap Wireless & networks.
  8. Tap Bluetooth if it’s currently unchecked and wait until the check mark appears.
  9. Tap Bluetooth settings.
  10.Tap Discoverable. (Note: You’ll have 2 minutes to complete the next 4 steps. If it times out before your phones get paired, start over from here.)
11. Tap Trusted Devices. If you have no trusted devices, it will automatically scan for new devices. Otherwise, tap the plus sign in the top left corner.  
12. Tap PG06100.  
13. When the passkey is shown, drag the bar toward Accept. (Note: If the pairing fails, go back to step 10 and try again.)  
  14. Tap Pair to confirm the passkey.
15. Tap PG06100.  
16. Tap Contacts.  
17. Tap Samsung Seek grid icon in the top left corner to select all contacts. (They’ll turn blue.)  
18. Drag the Send bar to the right.  
  19. Tap Accept on the Bluetooth authorization pop-up. (If this doesn’t appear, drag the notification bar at the top of your screen all the way down and tap Authorization Request first.)
  20. When you get the notification about an incoming file, drag the notification bar down and tap Bluetooth share: Incoming file.
  21. Tap Accept on the File transfer pop-up.
  22. Press android home icon.
  23. Tap People.
  24. Press android menu icon. (If you haven’t opened People before, you may get a View contacts pop-up first. Check which contacts you want to view in People, tap OK, then press android menu icon.)
  25. Tap Import/Export.
  26. Tap Import from SD card.
  27. If asked, choose whether you’d like to create the contacts under one of your email accounts or on the phone. (We recommend adding them to your Google account which automatically backs up your contacts.)
  28. Tap Import all vCard files then OK.
