Standard Phone Apps FAQ
Basics
All standard CREDO Mobile phones, except smartphones, come pre-loaded with the myContent store. Here's how to get there:
- From the main menu of your phone, scroll and select Downloads or My Content (depending on your phone's model).
- From there, select Ringers (ringtones), Screen Savers, Games or Applications.
- Select the Get New button. Your phone's Internet browser will launch (you'll need to pay for the data usage) and take you to the download menu.
- Next, use your phone's navigation or arrow keys to highlight and select any item(s) you would like to purchase. You'll see there are three ways to look up content:
- Featured: This is a sample of the most popular and most recent content.
- Categories: These are groups of content, sorted by type.
- Search: Browse for specific content.
- Once you have settled on content you'd like to purchase, select Buy. A "Download in progress" message will appear. A final notification will be sent to your phone once the purchase process is complete.
- The last step is to choose whether you would like to begin using your new content right away, or continue to shop for more items. Simply follow the prompts that appear on your phone's screen.
Note: Data charges (fees you pay whenever you access the Web from your phone) apply when you browse the Web or download any content to your phone. (Please refer to the question, "Will I incur data charges when I download content?") In addition, costs for ringtones, games and other downloads will be indicated at time of purchase.
- From the main menu of your phone, scroll and select Downloads or My Content (depending on your phone's model).
- Select Screen Savers or Games, depending on which you would like to preview.
- Select Get New. Your phone's Internet browser will launch and take you to the download menu.
- Use your phone's navigation or arrow keys to highlight and select an item you would like to preview.
- Once you have settled on content you would like to preview, select Preview Image.
- Select Done when you are ready to return to the purchase screen.
Notes:
- Data charges apply when you preview an item. Of course, you won't pay for the actual item until you decide to purchase it. For more information, please refer to the question, "Will I incur data charges when I download content?"
- By selecting the Description link, located directly below Preview Image on the purchase page, you can view information on each download, such as an in-depth description, estimated file size and version details.
You can purchase myContent downloads with any of our current CREDO Mobile phones, except smartphones, via the mobile Web. To learn more about your specific phone's features see our Phone Support section.

The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite-based navigation system. A GPS-enabled phone can communicate with this system to determine its location. This feature on mobile devices can be used for location based services and navigation applications.
Third party applications are available that offer advanced navigation and features such as turn by turn audio directions. These applications are sold for a one time price or an ongoing monthly subscription fee, and require a data plan for web access.
Google Maps is another free app that can show locations on a map and provide point-to-point directions. Visit m.google.com/maps from your phone's browser to determine if Google Maps is available for download to your handset.
TeleNav GPS Navigator is an enhanced navigation app that provides turn-by-turn driving directions by voice and onscreen, similar to a stand-alone GPS system. If you miss a turn TeleNav will automatically reroute you. Locate, call or navigate to rated and reviewed restaurants, hotels, ATMs, Wi-Fi hotspots and more from a directory of over 10 million businesses. Telenav requires a paid subscription. Visit the GPS category in the Applications section of the MyContent store from your phone to determine pricing and availability of Telenav.
Managing Your Content
If you have previously purchased ringtones, screen savers, games and apps for your phone, all of your purchases are stored in My Content Manager. In My Content Manager, you can do the following:
- View recently purchased content. Or, if you have limited-use or subscription-based content, you may view those downloads until they expire.
- Re-download ringtones, screen savers, games and apps that you have previously purchased. View content details, such as purchase date, price, subscription information, expiration dates and file sizes.
- Cancel a subscription.
To access My Content Manager from your phone, follow these simple steps:
- From the main menu on your phone, select Downloads or My Content (depending on your phone's model).
- Select the type of download you would like to manage: Ringers (ringtones), Screen Savers, Games or Applications.
- Select My Content Manager.
Notes:
- When you cancel a monthly subscription, the download will be available for use and will appear in My Content Manager until the end of the subscription period.
- You will incur data charges for browsing and accessing My Content Manager, but you will not incur any additional charges for re-downloading previously purchased content. (To save money on data, browse our CREDO Mobile Web plans. Or sign into Member Services now to add a plan to your account.)
If you previously purchased downloadable content, it will be available for re-downloading under My Content Manager. (Please refer to the question, "What is 'My Content Manager,' and where can I find it?" above.)
You may be able to transfer content to a new phone if you're using the same phone number. Not all downloads, however, are supported across all handset models so it's possible some content may not be compatible.
To find out whether it's possible to transfer content from one phone to another, go to My Content Manager on your new phone to access the list of content that may be used on your new phone. You will not incur any additional content license charges for re-downloading, although standard data charges may apply.
Pricing and Subscriptions
Yes. Data charges (fees you pay whenever you access the Web from your phone) apply when you browse the Web or download any content to your phone. Downloading content charges can vary widely but often range from $2 to $3 if you do not have a mobile Web plan.
If you'd like to save money on data you may browse our CREDO Mobile Web plans. To add a data plan to your account, sign in to Member Services, at right, and select Change Services. You'll pay a flat monthly fee for unlimited Web access each month.
Costs for ringtones, games and other downloads will be indicated at time of purchase.
Try downloading the content again. You will not be billed the price of the download for an additional attempt within the myContent store. (Data charges, however, may apply.) If you are still unable to complete the download, please call customer service at 800.411.0848.
For a one-time download, you will only be charged once to download the game or app, but you will have access to it for as long as the license is valid. The contents of the game or app will not be updated at any point, and the license may expire after a period of time. (To see if your download has an expiration date, please refer to the question above, "What is 'My Content Manager,' and where can I find it?")
Subscription downloads: You will be charged a flat monthly fee for subscription-based content.
All downloaded and subscription-based content is managed within My Content Manager. Follow these steps to access My Content Manager and to successfully unsubscribe:
- From the main menu of your phone, select Downloads or My Content (depending on your phone's model).
- Select Games or Applications.
- Select the desired game or app from which you would like to unsubscribe. A detailed description of the content will be displayed.
- Hit Unsubscribe.
- Select Confirm to cancel the subscription.
If you purchased subscription-based content from a third-party vendor, please refer to the specific vendor's Web site for cancelation instructions. (Often, these providers require that you reply STOP or QUIT to the shortcode that came with your game or app. This process varies, however, so please check with the provider first.)
When purchasing downloads for your mobile phone, we strongly recommend browsing our myContent store first. It's the safest and most trustworthy source for ringtones, screen savers, games and apps. And we won't automatically enroll you in a monthly subscription or surprise you with hidden fees. Plus, you can easily manage your downloads within the My Content Manager folder, right on your cell phone.
It depends. Ringtones do not expire and can be used indefinitely. Other content, such as games, may have limited use. For detailed license and usage information (which includes expiration dates), check under My Content Manager.
To access My Content Manager, please refer to the question above, "What is 'My Content Manager,' and where can I find it?"
