Your phone is a vital part of your business and personal life. Now you can insure it against loss, theft or damage with our Wireless Protection Program.
What does the Wireless Protection Program cover?
For $5.95 a month per phone, you’ll get comprehensive phone protection administered by The Signal. The Signal, which is now part of Assurant Solutions, has administered wireless-equipment coverage for over 25 years.
The program covers your cell phone, standard battery and standard charger. It does not include accessories like earpieces or Bluetooth® devices. Even if your new phone is still under warranty, we’ll cover most unwarranted repairs. We’ll also cover mechanical and electrical failure after the manufacturer’s warranty has expired.
The nonrefundable deductible per covered phone is $100 for smartphones and $50 for other feature phones. Read more about the Wireless Protection Program.
How do I sign up?
To enroll, sign in to your CREDO Mobile Member Services account (at right) and follow the steps below.

- Click on the Phone & Plan tab.
- Scroll down to the image of your phone. Select Change Services.
- Under Insure Your Phone, change your preferences from None to Cell Phone Insurance Plan.
- Hit Add Selected Services and check out.
To sign up over the phone, call CREDO Mobile directly at 877-804-4484. Your enrollment will take effect within 24 hours. The premium will be conveniently added to your monthly bill.
How do I file a claim?
Follow our easy steps below to file a claim. Claims must be submitted within 90 days of loss or damage and you’ll get your phone replaced usually within 72 hours from authorization. The 72-hour time period will depend on equipment availability.
If your phone was stolen, please follow these steps prior to submitting your claim:
- Report the theft to the local police department and get a police report number.
- Call CREDO Mobile customer service at 800-411-0848 and suspend your service to protect yourself against unauthorized charges.
To submit your claim, please call The Signal at 888-802-7211 and have the following information handy:
- Manufacturer's name and model name or number of your phone.
- Police report number (for stolen phones only).
The Wireless Protection Program is an optional insurance program and is
not required to purchase phone services or equipment. The term of this
coverage is monthly and is not tied to the term of Your subscriber contract
with the wireless carrier.
This Coverage Disclosure summarizes the Wireless Protection Program
insurance offer. Upon Your enrollment, You will receive by mail a Certificate
of Insurance that outlines the features, benefits, and exclusions under
the Policy issued to CREDO Mobile. Please refer to the Certificate of
Insurance for your state-specific coverage details. A copy of the Policy
is available upon request. The terms of this coverage, including rate and
deductible amounts, are subject to change in accordance with the Policy
and applicable law. You will be notified of any changes. This Coverage
Disclosure is accurate as of 01/29/10.
DEFINITIONS
Throughout this Coverage Disclosure the word "Policy" refers to the
Wireless Protection Program Group Master Policy issued to CREDO
Mobile. The words "We", "Us" and "Our" refer to American Security
Insurance Company (Standard Guaranty Insurance Company in New
Hampshire). "Loss" means accidental physical loss or damage to Covered
Property. "You", "Your" and "Subscriber" mean a customer of the Named
Insured that has elected to purchase insurance coverage on Covered
Property under the Policy issued to the Named Insured as demonstrated
by the completion of the required enrollment procedures. "Covered
Property" means one wireless phone or device per phone number
enrolled under this Policy.
COVERAGE
At a rate of $5.95 per month, We agree to provide this Insurance, as long
as the Loss to the Covered Property occurs while coverage is in effect.
Coverage is effective at 12:01 a.m. on the date of enrollment and will
continue until cancelled by either You or Us. Subject to the terms and conditions
outlined in the Certificate of Insurance, We insure Your Covered Property for
all risk that results from a covered Loss, regardless of other insurance You
may have except those causes of loss listed in the Exclusions.
DEDUCTIBLE
Each replacement of the covered property is subject to a $100 nonrefundable deductible per covered smartphone or a $50 nonrefundable deductible per covered feature phone.
You must satisfy the deductible before We will authorize a replacement.
LIMITS OF LIABILITY
A per occurrence limit of $1,500 (less the applicable deductible) applies
to each covered Loss to replace the Covered Property. There are no
restrictions to the maximum number of replacements of Covered Property
during the Policy term.
EXCLUSIONS
We will not cover a Loss directly or indirectly caused by or resulting from
the following: replacement delays; Your intentional parting of Covered
Property; obsolescence; cosmetic damage; unauthorized repair; pollutants;
failure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions; original Covered Property
defect or manufacturer’s recall; Mechanical and/or Electrical Failure during
the manufacturer’s warranty; preventative maintenance; property in transit;
normal wear and tear, rust, corrosion, gradual deterioration, inherent vice,
or latent defect; a Virus; or Nuclear Hazard, War, or Government Action.
CANCELLATION
You may cancel the Wireless Protection Program at any time by calling
877.804.4484.
DUTIES IN THE EVENT OF LOSS
If You are eligible for coverage and a covered Loss occurs, please call
888.802.7211 within 90 days of the Date of Loss to report Your claim and
provide a sworn statement of Loss. We will elect either to repair or replace
the Covered Property. Replacement equipment may, at Our option, be
refurbished equipment or different equipment of like kind and quality.
Replacement equipment will be approved equipment for use on the network
of the Service Provider and in the same equipment group as the Covered
Property at time of loss. Any recovery or salvage on a Loss will accrue entirely
to Our benefit until the expense incurred by Us has been recovered.
In case of conflict between this Coverage Disclosure and the Policy issued
to the Named Insured, the Policy will control.
The Wireless Protection Program may duplicate coverage already
provided by other insurance policies covering Your property.
Employees of CREDO Mobile are not qualified or authorized to evaluate
the adequacy of Your existing insurance coverages.

Department of Insurance operates a toll-free consumer hotline at
800-927-HELP(4357). CREDO Mobile is offering this product in California
and holds a limited insurance license in the state of California.

underwritten by American Security Insurance Company and Standard
Guaranty Insurance Company in NH.
