Activation issues

If you just activated your phone and it's not working, the quick updates below will fix most connection problems.

Before you start, you'll need to make sure that Wi-Fi is disconnected and that the Mobile Network is connected. To do this, double-press the Menu key (menu) from the home screen to open the tray, and then select Manage Connections (). If Mobile Network is unchecked, check it. If Wi-Fi is checked, uncheck it.

Once Wi-Fi is off and the Mobile Network is on, follow these steps:

  1. Take the battery out of your phone for at least 30 seconds.
  2. Reinsert the battery. Your phone should automatically restart. If not, hold down the End/Power key (end/power key) for a few seconds.
  3. Once your phone has restarted, unlock the screen if necessary, and then double-press the Menu key (menu) to open the tray.
  4. Select Manage Connections (), scroll down and select Mobile Network Options.
  5. Press the Menu key (menu) and select Update Profile. The update may take a few minutes.
  6. Tap OK when the update is complete.
  7. Test your voice connection by calling 888-281-2461. You should hear a short recorded message if your phone is working properly.
  8. Test your data connection by pressing the End/Power key (end/power key) > Browser. Enter in the address bar. If the page loads, your data connection is working.
