To order a replacement SIM card, call 800-411-0848. Please be sure to activate your new SIM card prior to traveling abroad. A CREDO Mobile customer service representative can help with the activation process: 800-411-0848.
No. SIM cards purchased from CREDO Mobile may only be used with the BlackBerry Tour 9630 smartphone from CREDO Mobile.
Yes. The BlackBerry Tour smartphone from CREDO Mobile is SIM-unlocked and other pre-paid SIM cards that you may purchase abroad or purchased online specifically for travel abroad can be used with the Tour. Our customers are free to choose a different SIM card, though there are advantages/disadvantages of doing such. For example, you would not be able to get data to work (no e-mail or Web-browsing) but you may be able to save money (prepaid). Please note that SIM cards for use in the U.S. (such as with T-Mobile or AT&T) will not work with the BlackBerry Tour smartphone from CREDO Mobile.
For support while traveling abroad, please call our international help line at 571-730-5554 from a phone other than your BlackBerry smartphone, so that we can troubleshoot the issue. Or email us at customerservice@credomobile.com. Support is available Mon–Fri, 5:30 a.m.–7:30 p.m. PT and Sat–Sun, 7 a.m.–5 p.m. PT.
Please note: Our international help line should only be used when traveling abroad. When in the U.S., please use our general customer service number for your inquiries: 800-411-0848.
If your phone was recently hotlined or suspended, please call 800-411-0848 to determine whether it can be used abroad.
- Remove battery from the BlackBerry Tour smartphone for at least 30 seconds. Replace battery and turn on device.
- While the battery is out this is a good time to make sure that the SIM card was inserted correctly. The SIM cards metal contacts should be facing down and the cutoff corner of the SIM card points toward the top-left corner of your device.
- Replace battery so that the metal contacts on the battery align with the metal contacts on your device and turn on the device.
- Make sure that the phone is not in Emergency mode.
- Make sure that the phone is in a mode that's Global/GSM/1XEV-compatible with the local cellular network technology. To do this, go to Manage Connections. Select Mobile Network Options, then Network Technology. Select Global.
If Global mode is not working, try selecting GSM/UMTS or 1XEV, depending on which country you're in.
If you are having issues with data service in particular, try the following troubleshooting steps to re-provision data service: go to Manage Connections, select Mobile Network Options. Hit the BlackBerry button and select Update Profile.
