During the August congressional recess, Working Assets is working to turn up the heat on pro-war members of Congress while they are in their home districts. In partnership with our friends at the Americans Against Escalation in Iraq (AAEI) coalition -- including MoveOn, True Majority, and USAction -- our members across the country are displaying yard signs that say "Support The Troops End The War," and they have been bird-dogging these pro-war congressmembers wherever they go.
In the beginning of September, Congress will return to Washington, DC and resume the Iraq debate. We want to send them a strong message before they go: bring the troops home from Iraq NOW.
Working Assets and our coalition partners will be organizing townhall meetings and thousands of vigils across the country to send this message. As our representatives and senators return to DC, we want to make sure that they remember one thing -- their constituents are counting on them to end the war.
