• I just received my new phone. What should I do first?

  If your phone needs to be activated when it arrives, please follow the instructions on your phone's screen. You may begin using your phone as soon as it is activated, but we recommended giving it a full charge first. To view additional information about your new handset, please refer to your phone's user guide.

• Can I recycle my old phone?

  Yes – and we make it easy to do so. Along with your new phone, you will receive a prepaid shipping label for CollectiveGood, a leading phone-recycling company that has helped keep hundreds of thousands of mobile phones out of landfills. Just mail in your old handset and CollectiveGood, will recycle its parts for reuse.

• Where can I learn more about my new phone?

• How do I place a call?

  Make sure your phone is on. Then, using the keypad, enter the number you wish to call. Then press the "talk" button (it's usually a green button) to initiate your call. Be sure to check your owner's manual for more details.

• How do I receive a call?

  Make sure your phone is on. If you have a flip phone, you can answer a call simply by opening your phone. If you do not have a flip phone, press the "talk" button (it's usually a green button) to accept an incoming call. Be sure to check your owner's manual for more details.

• How do I end a call?

  Press the "end" button (it's usually a red button). If you have a flip phone, you can end a call simply by closing your phone. Be sure to check your owner's manual for more details.

• Can my reception vary in certain areas?

  Your mobile phone uses radio signals from a nearby cell tower. Just as reception of your favorite radio station depends on the location of your radio, your mobile phone reception depends on various conditions, such as your proximity to the nearest cell tower and geographic obstacles like hills and tall buildings. If you're in an underground parking lot or subway system, your reception may also be affected.

• What should I do if my phone is lost or stolen?

  If your phone is lost or stolen, immediately notify CREDO Mobile customer service at 800.411.0848. Or e-mail customerservice@credomobile.com. We will deactivate service. Please notify us as quickly as possible to avoid being charged for calls made on the lost or stolen equipment.

• What's included in my monthly service plan?

  Each plan offers a fixed amount of anytime, night and weekend minutes for a flat monthly fee. CREDO Mobile members also get unlimited member-to-member calls. For details about your plan, please see your welcome letter or log on at Member Services.

• What is a family plan?

  Family plans allow you to combine two or more accounts (and up to five lines) to share minutes. A basic family plan includes two lines. Each additional line costs $9.99 per month. You may also add a CREDO Mobile text or Web plan — a money-saving package for a flat monthly fee — on a per-line or family-plan basis. Please refer to our plans and text and Web plans pages for more information.

• What is myCommunity?

  If there are certain people you talk to frequently, myCommunity is a great way to save money on those calls. Just choose five people and you'll get unlimited calling to them each month – without costing you any minutes on your current plan. Check out our myCommunity page for rates and details.

• Does CREDO Mobile offer service for business accounts?

  Yes, we offer discounts on business accounts with six or more lines. We also give all new business accounts 25% off all cell phone accessories. Check out our CREDO Mobile Business Service page for more information. Or call 877.76.CREDO.

• How do I add a line to my account?

  Log on at Member Services to add a line to your existing family plan or change your individual plan to a family plan. You may also call 800.411.0848 and speak to customer service. (Or dial *CREDO from your CREDO Mobile phone to reach customer service directly.)

• How can I reach directory assistance?

  Dial 411, then press the "talk" button. A directory assistance charge of $1.49 per call will apply. You will then be connected to your desired number for no additional fee.

billing

• What charges will appear on my first bill?

  Your first bill may be higher than you expect. Don't worry. Since we bill one month in advance, your first statement includes any charges for the days since you started service, in addition to the next month's fee. Your first bill will also include any equipment and accessories you ordered when you signed up and any applicable federal, state and local sales tax.

• What is "airtime" and how is it billed?

  Airtime is the time spent connected to the wireless network. You are billed for placing and receiving calls, accessing voicemail, getting directory assistance or operator assistance and other uses, such as accessing the Web. A call starts billing when you push the "talk" button and stops when your call disconnects. Call duration is rounded up to the nearest minute and billed at full-minute increments.

• When do night and weekend minutes start?

  Nights begin at 9 p.m. Weekend minutes begin at 9 p.m. on Friday and end at 7 a.m. on Monday. For just $5 more per month, you can have your night minutes begin at 7 p.m.

• How are minutes deducted?

  Airtime minutes are deducted for every call, made or received, while connected to the Sprint® network, including long distance and voicemail calls. If you exceed the minutes included in your plan, overage minutes are charged at a specific per-minute rate, which varies by plan. Check your plan details for more information. (Note: calls made and received during nights and weekends, as well as calls to and from other CREDO Mobile members, are not deducted from your monthly minutes.)

• Who is charged when a call is placed from one mobile phone to another?

  Both parties are charged for the call, though calls with other CREDO Mobile members are free.

• Will I be billed for calls to toll-free numbers?

  Yes, calls placed to toll-free numbers (beginning with 800, 866, 877 and 888) are billed airtime. If you wish to avoid airtime charges to these numbers, we recommend that you place toll-free calls from a landline.

• Why are there taxes on my bill?

  Many states and local jurisdictions apply unique taxes to wireless services. Taxes vary depending on factors like local tax rates, your billing address and the origination of your call. The Federal Communications Commission and the federal government also levy taxes on wireless services.

• Where can I send my payments?

  We encourage you to help us save paper and pay online. If you prefer to send us a check or money order, please be sure to write your mobile phone number or account number on your check. Send payment to:

• I received a notification that my usage is close to exceeding my account spending limit. What does this mean?

  Your mobile account was established with an account spending limit. Exceeding this limit will result in service suspension. Service is restored as soon as balances are paid. When your usage nears the maximum limit, we will attempt to contact you to ensure you have time to pay outstanding charges and avoid suspension. Please contact customer service at 800.411.0848 or dial *CREDO from your CREDO Mobile phone to make payment arrangements. Additionally, you can always check your minutes at Member Services. (Note: the usage information on our Web site may vary from your current actual usage due to network delays. This particularly affects any usage within the previous 24 hours.)

• How can I access my account information?

  Log on at Member Services to check your minutes, upgrade your handset, add a text or Web plan, upgrade or change your plan, sign up for online billing, make payments or review your current account settings.

• Can I pay my bill online?

  Yes. Sign on at Member Services and click on the "Web bill" link.

• How can I check to see how many more minutes I have each month?

  You can log on at Member Services to check your minutes and your text and data usage. You can also check your minutes via our 24-hour automated system. Just dial 866.952.5016 from your CREDO Mobile phone. (Note: The information provided may vary from your actual usage, due to network delays. This primarily affects any calls placed within the previous 24 hours.)

• How do I set up voicemail?

  With most phones, you can access your voicemail by pressing and holding the button with an image of an envelope or cassette tape on it. Typically, this is the number 1 key or a non-numerical key at the top of your keypad.

  You may also access voicemail by dialing your own mobile number and following the prompts to create a passcode. At this time you may also record your name or greeting, which others will hear when they reach your voicemail box.

  If you ever need to access your voicemail from someone else's phone — or from a landline — you may do so by dialing your own number. When you hear your call go to voicemail, press * ("star") and enter your passcode.

• What will callers hear when they reach my voicemail?

  When you first set up your voicemail, you will be asked to either record a personal greeting or select the standard greeting (which may also require you to record your name). On or the other greeting will be played when a caller reaches your voicemail.

• How do I listen to my voicemail messages from my phone?

  Press or hold the voicemail button on your keypad until your screen indicates that it is calling voicemail. Some phones require you to press the number 1 key, then the "talk" button. Listen to your messages, then save or erase. (Note: Some phones preprogram the voicemail speed-dial feature without including your area code. You will need to dial your area code and seven-digit mobile phone number to access your voicemail when you're outside your local calling area.)

• How do I listen to my voicemail messages from another phone?

  To listen to your voicemail messages from another phone, dial your mobile phone number and wait for the call to roll to voicemail. Once you hear your own voicemail greeting, press * ("star") and enter your passcode. Listen to, save or erase messages.

• What is one-touch access and how do I set it up?

  With one-touch access, you can skip entering your passcode every time you access voicemail from your phone. To set it up, press and hold the voicemail button on your phone for a couple of seconds. Once you're in voicemail, press 3 (personal options) and then 2 (administrative options). Listen for the one-touch access prompt. Press 1 to turn one-touch access on or off. You may also consult your phone's user guide for more information.

• How do I know if I have a new voicemail message?

  An envelope or cassette-tape icon will appear on your screen when you have a new voicemail message. The icon will continue to display until you've listened to and either erased or saved all of your new messages.

• How do I save a voicemail message?

  Your voicemail messages are automatically saved for 30 days before they are deleted. You also have the option of deleting a message immediately after you listen to it. Just follow the prompts to delete.

• What is the callback feature and how do I use it?

  The callback feature allows you to immediately reply to your voicemail messages. To use this feature, press 8 while listening to a message. Your phone will automatically dial the caller's number.

• Can callers mark voicemails as "urgent"?

  Yes, you can designate a voicemail as urgent. Here's how:

  Leave your message.
  Press #.
  Press 1.
  Press 2.

• Can callers mark a voicemail as "private"?

  Yes, you can leave a private message, which means the voicemail cannot be forwarded to anyone else. Here's how you can leave a private message:

• What if I enter the wrong voicemail passcode?

  You will have three chances to enter a valid passcode. If you fail on your third attempt, you will hear "Thank you for calling" and be disconnected from voicemail.

• What if I forget my voicemail passcode?

  You will need to change your passcode if you forget it. If you have one-touch access, follow these steps:

  Connect to voicemail.
  Press 3.
  Press 2.
  Press 4 to change the passcode. You will be prompted to enter a new four-digit to ten-digit passcode.

  If you do not have one-touch access, please call CREDO Mobile customer service at 800.411.0848. Or dial *CREDO from your CREDO phone or e-mail us at customerservice@credomobile.com to get a new passcode. Our customer service team cannot retrieve forgotten passcodes.

• How can I change my voicemail passcode?

  Connect to voicemail.
  Press 3.
  Press 2.
  Press 4 to change the passcode.

  You will be prompted to enter a new four-digit to ten-digit passcode. You will then be asked to verify the new passcode.

• Can I change the number of rings before my calls go to my voicemail?

  The standard ring cycle is set for 23 seconds. Depending on which phone model you have, it may be possible to change this setting. Please refer to your phone's user manual to see if this is an available option.

• Can I use my phone while someone is leaving me a voicemail?

  Yes. Once an incoming call has been forwarded to your voicemail, you're free to make outgoing calls.

• I have a MotoQ™ 9c smartphone. How do I install the latest update, from Windows 6.0 to Windows 6.1?

  MotoQ™ 9c users can go to our comprehensive Windows 6.1 upgrade instructions page. There you'll find a link to the Motorola site to download Windows 6.1, as well as step-by-step instructions if you would like additional support. In addition to your smartphone, you'll need to be at your primary computer and have your MotoQ™ 9c data cable to complete the upgrade.

• I received a replacement phone. How do I activate it?

  After fully charging your phone, please user a different line to contact CREDO Mobile customer service at 800.411.0848. A customer service representative will deactivate your old phone (if required) and activate your new phone. Before placing the call to customer service, please be sure you have the following information ready:

  1. Your mobile phone number. If you don't know the number you can find it printed directly on your packing slip under "phone #".
  2. Your electronic serial number (ESN), which can also be found on the packing slip or on the back of the phone if you remove the battery.

  (Note: we recommend that you charge your new phone first but you may begin using it as soon as it arrives and is properly activated. Please refer to your phone's user manual or log on at Member Services for complete instructions.

• How do I insure my mobile phone against damage or loss?

  CREDO Mobile offers an equipment-replacement program provided by Signal insurance company. This program covers the replacement of equipment should your phone be lost, stolen or damaged. The CREDO Mobile equipment-replacement program offers coverage for your phone, battery and charger. Call CREDO Mobile customer service at 800.411.0848 or dial *CREDO from your CREDO Mobile phone to sign up. You may also refer to additional questions below for more details about deductibles and limitations.

• How do I enroll in the equipment-replacement program?

  You can enroll in the CREDO Mobile equipment-replacement program when you sign up for CREDO Mobile service or anytime thereafter by signing in to Member Servicesor by calling customer service at 800.411.0848.

  For $3.95 a month you will receive coverage for your CREDO Mobile phone, battery and charger. The $3.95 fee will appear on your monthly statement. A deductible is assessed for each approved claim and will also appear on your monthly statement ($25 for mechanical failure or $35 for theft, loss or damage).

• Do you offer hearing aid-compatible (HAC) phones?

CALL WAITING
• How does call waiting work?

  You'll hear a tone when another call is coming in. If you don't respond, the tone will repeat for about 10 seconds before deferring automatically to your voicemail.

  To answer an incoming call while on another call:

  1. Press "OK" or "talk" to put your first call on hold and answer the incoming call.
  2. To return to your first call, press "OK" or "talk" again. You will then be connected to the first caller while your second caller is placed on hold.
• How do I deactivate call waiting?

  If you would like to make a call without interruption from incoming calls during that time, you may temporarily deactivate the call-waiting feature by pressing *70.

  Then dial the phone number you want to call.

  Press "OK" or "talk."

  When your call is over and you hang up, call waiting will automatically reactivate.

• Are there any charges for call waiting?

  There is no extra charge for call waiting. However, you will be billed airtime for all calls.

THREE-WAY CALLING
• How do I use three-way calling?

  To set up a three-way call:

  1. Dial your first number and press "OK" or "talk."
  2. When the first person answers, press "OK" or "talk" to put the person on hold.
  3. Dial the second number and press "OK" or "talk."
  4. When you're connected to the second party, press "OK" or "talk" to connect all three of you on the same call.
• How do I end a three-way call?

  To end a three-way call:

  1. Press "OK" or "talk" to disconnect the last party brought into the three-way call.
  2. Press "end" to disconnect both parties.
  3. If either of the other parties hangs up, the conversation will continue as a two-party call.
• Is there a charge for three-way calling?

  There is no extra charge for three-way calling. You will be billed airtime and any applicable long distance charges for both calls involved in your conversation.

CALL FORWARDING
• How do I use call forwarding?

  To activate call forwarding, dial *72.

  Next, dial the area code and phone number to which your calls should be forwarded.

  Press "OK." You'll see a message and hear a tone confirming activation of call forwarding.

• How do I deactivate call forwarding?

  To turn off call forwarding, dial *720.

  Press "OK." You'll see a message and hear a tone confirming deactivation of call forwarding.

• How do I know call forwarding has been activated on my phone?

  There is no alert or notification to remind you that you have activated the call-forwarding feature. Your phone will not ring when the call-forwarding feature is activated. You may need to test for delivery of incoming calls if you are unsure.

• Will voicemail pick up forwarded calls?

  No, once your calls have been forwarded to another number your voicemail will not pick up calls. You must deactivate call forwarding for your voicemail to pick up missed calls.

• Is there a charge to use call forwarding?

  Yes, each forwarded call costs 10¢ per minute, plus any applicable long distance or airtime charges.

CALLER ID
• How does caller ID work?

  Caller ID works automatically with all incoming calls, unless the caller has a restricted number. If you have saved an incoming caller's name and number in your contact list, the caller's name will appear on your phone's display along with the number.

• Are there limitations with this feature?

  Incoming callers can block their numbers, so you may see "private" or "P" displayed on your phone screen. Many smaller local telecommunications companies and some long distance carriers cannot pass along callers' IDs, so you may see either "unavailable" or "U" on your phone screen.

• Does caller ID work with call waiting?

  Yes, caller ID is displayed for waiting calls. This means that when you are engaged in a call and hear a call-waiting notification you will also see the calling party's number displayed on your phone.

• Are there any charges associated with caller ID?

  No, there is no extra charge for caller ID.

CALLER ID BLOCKING
• How does Caller ID block work?

  Caller ID block is available on a permanent or per-call basis. If used on a permanent basis, your number is blocked from display on any receiving party's phone for all calls that originate from your mobile phone. If caller ID is used on a per-call basis, you choose when your call will be blocked from display on the receiving party's phone.

• How do I activate permanent caller ID blocking?

  To permanently restrict your mobile number from appearing, please request this feature during your activation call. Or contact us at 800.411.0848 or go to customerservice@credomobile.com.

• How do I activate caller ID blocking on a per-call basis?

  If you do not have permanent caller ID block, you can choose to block your phone number's display by pressing *67 + destination number. If you have permanent caller ID block, you can allow presentation of your phone number for a particular call by pressing *68 + destination number.

• Is there a charge for caller ID blocking?

  No, there is no extra charge for caller ID blocking.

NUMERIC PAGING
• How does numeric paging work?

  When callers reach your voicemail, they will hear an option to leave a numeric page instead of a voicemail message.

• How do I set up the numeric paging feature?

  Follow these steps:

  1. Connect to your voicemail.
  2. On the voicemail main menu, press 3.
  3. Press 1.
  4. Follow voice instructions.
• Is there a charge for numeric paging?

  No, there is no charge for numeric paging.

TEXT MESSAGING
basics
• How long can my text message be?

  Text messages (also known as "SMS" messages) can be up to 160 characters. Most CREDO handsets will prompt and restrict you from typing in more than 160 characters on a single text message. The 160 characters include the sender's e-mail address (if applicable) and actual message.

• How do I send a text message?
  1. On your cell phone, go to the main menu.
  2. Find the Messaging icon (usually an envelope) and click OK or enter to confirm your selection.
  3. Select New Text or Send Message.
  4. Key in the mobile phone number(s) or e-mail address(es) you want to send a picture to. You may be able to select these from your address book. Click OK.
  5. Type in your message—up to 160 characters. Most phones have a character count in the upper-right corner of the screen. When finished, press send at bottom of the screen.
• How do I manage my text messages?

  Managing your text messages is similar to managing e-mails on your computer. You'll find an inbox, outbox, sent folder and drafts folder. On your phone, you'll also have an album, memory card and other folders that contain your pictures and images.

• Can I send a text message, even if I don't have a text plan?

  Yes. If your phone comes equipped with text messaging, you can send and receive these messages with or without a text plan.

• Does my phone support text messaging?

  Most cell phones are equipped with text messaging. You can verify your phone's texting capabilities here.

• How can I send a text to several cell phone numbers and e-mail addresses at once?

  Instead of selecting just one phone number or e-mail address, you may send a text message to several numbers and addresses at once. Here's how to do it:

  1. On your cell phone, go to the main menu.
  2. Find the Messaging icon (usually an envelope) and click OK or enter. Select Send Message or Compose.
  3. Select Text Messaging and the click Multiple at the bottom of your screen.
  4. Scroll and check off which mobile number(s) or e-mail address(es) you want to send a text message to (up to 10 maximum). Click OK.
  5. Type in your message.
  6. When finished, press send at the bottom of your screen.
beyond the basics
• What's a short code, and how do I send it?

  Short codes are condensed phone numbers used to send text messages from your cell phone to check bank balances, make charitable donations, get directions and more. (Examples: text "93557" for Wells Fargo Bank; "46645" for Google information inquiries.)

• How do I send on-demand text inquiries (including "cause texts")?

  With on-demand text requests, you can get updates and information just about anywhere, anytime.

  Here are general instructions (may vary slightly depending on your phone model and your recipient):

  1. Go to the main menu > click on the Messaging icon (envelope) > click on text message.
  2. Type in a short code (such as "46645" for Google), as you would key in a phone number.
  3. Type in your inquiry. Here is an example of on-demand texting to 46645 (Google):

  * In some cases, you only need to type in a one-letter abbreviation, like "w" (weather) or "m" (movie times) for Google. Remember to always include your ZIP code when requesting location-specific information.

  Another example of an on-demand (cause) text: the fish sustainability alert from Blue Ocean Institute. To find out whether your seafood choice is sustainable, text "30644" with the message FISH, followed by the type of fish in question. You'll quickly receive a text back with an assessment, any environmental concerns and, if necessary, alternatives.

• What's a text alert — and how do I receive one?

  Text alerts are pre-arranged messages that are sent directly to your cell phone once an event occurs. They can help you stay informed quickly about your bank accounts, weather, sports, breaking news, stock prices—even urgent progressive and political news with the CREDO Mobile Action Network.

  A couple of text alert examples:

  • Banking alerts: Many banks offer free alerts about your account transactions. These alerts may be sent directly to your cell phone when your balance drops below a certain preset amount. Typically, an online banking account is required first. Go to your bank's Web site to sign up.
  • AMBER Alerts: You can receive text bulletins if there are any AMBER Alerts for your area. For more information, click here. To sign up, click here.
pricing and discount plans
• How much does it cost to send or receive a text message?

  You will be charged only 20¢ per text message sent or received.

  To save money on text messaging each month, sign up for a text plan. Plus, if you're on a text plan, texts sent and received in excess of your plan will be billed at only 10¢ each.

• How much can I save with a text plan?

  Choose a text plan and save:

  • 50 text messages for $2.99/month (about 6¢ per message)
  • 300 text messages for $4.99/month (less than 2¢ per message)
  • Unlimited text messages for $14.99/month
  • Unlimited family text plan for $24.99/month (available for up to five lines)

  The amount you save will depend on the number of text messages you send.

  NOTE: With the exception of the unlimited family plan, the text plans above are for individual cell phone lines.

• Which text messaging discount plan is best for you?

  The chart below shows examples of low, medium and high text use, and how much it would cost if you pay per-message or if you're on a text plan.

  General rule: If you send and receive more than 15 texts a month, one of our text plans will help you save.

• What If I run into problems while text messaging or receive error messages?

  Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Verify the sent information from your text message. Example: Make sure the phone number only contains the area code and 7 digit phone number. Do not put a 1 in front of the number or if using an e-mail address, make sure the e-mail is entered correctly. If this does not correct the issue, please move to step #2.

• How do I send a picture message?

  Sending a picture message is as simple as sending an e-mail on your computer. Here's how:

  1. On your cell phone, go to the main menu.
  2. Find the Messaging icon (usually an envelope) and click OK or enter. Select Send Message or Compose.
  3. Select Picture Messaging, then click on the contacts box. Your address book will pop up. Scroll to select your desired contact. Or, you can key in the phone number or e-mail address of the person you'd like to send a picture to. Click OK.
  4. Attach picture(s) from your album, memory card or other source. Click OK.
  5. Type in your subject line and message—up to 160 characters. On many phones, there is a character counter in the upper-right corner of the screen.
  6. When finished, press send at the bottom of your screen.

• How do I manage my picture messages?

  Managing your picture messages is similar to managing e-mails on your computer. You have an inbox, outbox, sent folder and drafts folder. On your cell phone, however, you also have an album and other folders that contain your images.

• Can I send picture messages, even if I don't have a Mobile Web/picture messaging plan?

  Absolutely. If your phone can take a picture and send and receive text messages, you can send and receive picture messages.

  It's also important to note that sending and receiving picture messages uses data, so a Mobile Web plan, which covers picture messaging, may help you save money.

• Does my phone support picture messaging?

  Most current cell phones are equipped with a camera, as well as text messaging and Web capabilities. You can verify your phone's texting capabilities here.

• How do I send a picture message to an e-mail address?

  Sending a picture message to an e-mail address is similar to sending a picture message to another cell phone number: just key in the desired e-mail address where you would otherwise type in a phone number.

  Sending picture messages to your e-mail account is also a simple way to transfer images from your phone to your computer.

• How can I send a picture message to several cell phone numbers and e-mail addresses at once?

  Instead of selecting just one phone number or e-mail address, you may send a picture message to up to 10 numbers and addresses at once. Here's how to do it:

  1. On your cell phone, go to the main menu.
  2. Find the Messaging icon (usually an envelope) and click ok or enter. Select Send Message or Compose.
  3. Select Text Messaging and then click Multiple at the bottom of your screen.
  4. Scroll and check off which mobile number(s) or e-mail address(es) you want to send a text message to. Click ok.
  5. Type in your message.
  6. When finished, press send at the bottom of your screen.

• How can turn a picture I receive into my screen saver?

  It's easy. Just follow these steps:

  1. Find the Messaging icon (usually an envelope) and click ok or enter, then select Picture Messaging.
  2. Click on Inbox.
  3. Open the picture message that contains the image you'd like to use as your screen saver.
  4. Once you've selected the picture, click Options > Assign Media. (Depending on your handset model, you may need to download it first, which saves it to your phone. After downloading, you can set the picture as the screen saver or view it first.)
  5. The picture will reappear on your screen. Click Assign.
• How can I take a picture and send it to services like Flickr to share with friends and family?

  Here's how to send pictures from your phone to a photo-sharing platform like Flickr:

  1. Go to flickr.com and create a new account. Or log into your existing Flickr account if you already have one.
  2. Find the unique e-mail address from Flickr to which you can send pictures from your mobile phone.
  3. E-mail your pictures to Flickr using this unique e-mail address. Note: When you upload photos via e-mail, your subject line will appear as the title of your photo and whatever you write into the body of the e-mail will appear as the photo's description.

• How much data is used to send or receive a picture message? And how much does it cost?

  Your cost is based on the number of kb (kilobytes) of data you use. Kilobytes and megabytes (MB) are standard units of measure for data sent and received, and 1,024 kb equal 1 MB.

  A couple of things to keep in mind:

  • The size of each picture message varies based on image quality. Here's one estimate: sending or receiving a picture message uses 40kb of data.
  • Without a CREDO Mobile Web plan, which covers picture messaging, you pay 1¢ per kilobyte.

  CREDO Mobile offers two Web plans for standard (non-smart) phones to help you save money on picture messaging:

  1. Verify the sent information from your picture message. Example: Make sure the phone number contains only the area code and 7-digit phone number. • I forgot my picture messaging password. How do I retrieve it?

  When you send a picture for the first time from your phone, you will be asked to enter a password. This step creates a password for your picture messaging both on your phone and for logging into www.plspictures.com.

  If you forgot your password, please log onto www.plspictures.com and click on the "Forgot your password" link. Your password will then be sent to you in a text message.

• Can I go online with my CREDO Mobile phone?

  Yes, you can connect to the Web with any of our current CREDO Mobile phones. Click here to check your phone's Web-browsing capabilities. To access the Mobile Web, simply:

  • Press the Web icon on your phone's main menu.
  • After clicking the Web icon, you may be asked to click yes if you wish to proceed. This message is a reminder that you will be charged for data use.

  NOTE: On some phones you may not see a data charge message if the reminder was previously disabled.

• What type of content is available?

  There is a wide variety of content available on the Mobile Web. When you first click the Web browser, you'll arrive at CREDO's mobile site. From there you will find links to over 40 different mobile sites covering news, sports, progressive commentary, entertainment and e-mail.

  But you're not restricted to just those sites – you can browse to any site by typing the Web address into the search box or within your mobile browser. (Similar to conducting a search on your home computer.) The search box is located near the bottom of CREDO's mobile site.

  NOTE: Not every mobile site is designed for cell phone Web-browsing—and we can't guarantee the quality of each site. We recommend you find your favorites and bookmark them.

• Why do I always start on CREDO's mobile site?

  On a standard (non-smart) phone, you can browse to any mobile site by typing the Web address into either the search box (located on the bottom of CREDO's mobile site) or within your mobile browser.

  You are billed for Web browsing as soon as you connect to the Web from your phone. You are also charged each time you click a link. Often, an animated icon at the top of your screen will alert you whenever you're using data.

• How am I billed for using the Web on my phone?

  Data use is billed per kilobyte (kb). If you don't have a Web plan, you are billed at a rate of 1¢ per kb*. A Web plan can help reduce your Web-browsing charges each month.

  Data use varies based on the complexity of the Web page itself, the number of pictures or multimedia on a page, the quality of the images and the device used.

  Here are some estimates:

  • Sending or receiving a picture message: 40kb

  You can access several of the most popular Web-based e-mail providers, directly from CREDO's mobile site. For specific instructions, see below. If you use an e-mail provider not listed on our site, you may still be able to access your account by typing the provider's name into your phone search box, located at the bottom of the CREDO mobile site.

  To access your personal e-mail:

  • Open the Web on your phone by clicking the Web icon or link on your phone menu. Smartphone users: your e-mail options may vary. See: "How can I access e-mail from a smartphone?"
  • When CREDO's mobile site opens, click MESSAGING and E-MAIL.
  • Select one of the following: AOL Mail, Gmail, MSN/Hotmail or Yahoo! Mail.

  Sign in with the username and password you normally use when logging into e-mail from your home computer.

  If you do not already have a Web-based e-mail account, consider opening one at one of the sites listed above so you can access your e-mail from your mobile phone.

• How can I access e-mail from a smartphone?

  With a smartphone, you can access three types of e-mail:

  1. Personal e-mail accounts - Browse to your e-mail provider's mobile site and log in the same way you would on your computer. If you have AOL Mail, MSN/Hotmail, Gmail or Yahoo! Mail, you can access your provider's site from CREDO's mobile page.

  All CREDO Mobile phones — except smartphones (please refer to the question, "Can I download content if I have a smartphone like the Moto Q™ or BlackBerry®?") — come equipped with downloadable content, such as ringtones, screen savers, games and apps. To access that content, do the following:

  1. From the main menu of your phone, scroll and select Downloads or My Content (depending on your phone's model).
  2. From there, select Ringers (ringtones), Screen Savers, Games or Applications.
  3. Select the Get New button. Your phone's Internet browser will launch (you'll need to pay for the data usage) and take you to the download menu.
  4. Next, use your phone's navigation or arrow keys to highlight and select any item(s) you would like to purchase. You'll see there are three ways to search for downloads:
     
     Featured: This is a sample of the most popular and most recent content.
     
     Categories: These are groups of content, sorted by type.
     
     Search: This tool will help you browse for specific content.
  5. Once you have settled on content you'd like to purchase, select Buy. A Download in progress message will appear, and a final notification will be sent to your phone once the purchase process is complete.
  6. The last step is to choose whether you would like to begin using your new content right away, or continue to shop for more items. Simply follow the prompts that appear on your phone's screen.

• What is "My Content Manager," and where can I find it?

  If you have previously purchased ringtones, screen savers, games and apps for your phone, all of your purchases are stored in My Content Manager. In My Content Manager, you can do the following:

  1. View recently purchased content. Or, if you have limited-use or subscription-based content, you may view those downloads until they expire.
  2. Re-download ringtones, screen savers, games and apps that you purchased. View content details, such as purchase date, price, subscription information, expiration dates and file sizes.
  3. Cancel a subscription.

  To access My Content Manager from your phone, follow these simple steps:

  1. From the main menu on your phone, select Downloads or My Content (depending on your phone's model).
  2. Select the type of download you would like to manage: Ringers (ringtones), Screen Savers, Games or Applications.
  3. Select My Content Manager.

  Notes:

  • When you cancel a monthly subscription, the download will be available for use and will appear in My Content Manager until the end of the subscription period.
  • You will incur data charges for browsing and accessing My Content Manager, but you will not incur any additional charges for re-downloading previously purchased content. (To save money on data, check out CREDO Mobile Web Plans.)
• How do I play a game I have already downloaded to my phone?

  To access and play a game, simply do the following:

  1. From either the Downloads or My Content folder, select Games.
  2. Using the navigation or arrow keys on your phone, highlight the desired game to play.
  3. The game will immediately launch.
• Will my content expire?

  It depends. Ringtones do not expire and can be used indefinitely. Other content, such as games, may have limited use. For detailed license and usage information (which includes expiration dates), check under My Content Manager.

• How do I re-download ringtones, screen savers, games and apps to my phone?

  If you previously purchased downloadable content, it will be available for re-downloading under My Content Manager. Please refer to the question, "What is 'My Content Manager,' and where can I find it?"

• Will I still be able to use content purchased for my old phone on my new phone?

  Not all downloads are supported across all handset models, but content purchased from your old phone may be transferrable to your new phone — if you kept your old phone number.

  To find out whether it is possible to transfer content from one phone to another, go to My Content Manager on your new phone to access the list of content that may be used on your new phone. You will not incur any additional content license charges for re-downloading, although standard data charges may apply.

• How do I delete ringtones, screen savers, games and apps from my phone?

  To delete downloads from your phone, follow these steps:

  1. From the main menu of your phone, select Downloads or My Content (depending on your phone's model).
  2. Select Ringers (ringtones), Screen Savers, Games or Applications.
  3. Using the navigation or arrow keys on your phone, highlight the specific content you would like to delete.
  4. Select Options or Menu (depending on your phone's model) and hit Delete.
• How do I assign a ringtone or screen saver to my contact list?

  If you would like to assign a specific ringtone or screen saver to a contact, you can do the following:

  1. From the main menu of your phone, select Downloads or My Content (depending on your phone's model).
  2. Select Ringers (ringtones) or Screen Savers.
  3. Using the navigation or arrow keys on your phone, scroll and highlight the desired ringtone or screen saver. Next, select Options or Menu (depending on your phone's model).
  4. Select Set As.
  5. Scroll to Contacts and select the desired contact on your list to whom you would like to assign the ringtone or screen saver.

• Can I download content if I have a smartphone like the MotoQ™ or BlackBerry®?

  The myContent store is not compatible with smartphones and PDAs. But there are other options for purchasing or downloading content for your phone.

  You can purchase apps, games, music and more for your smartphone and PDA through a variety of providers online. Many of these services require payment via credit card or PayPal. Here are two smartphone content providers we like. Just click and follow the instructions:

• What should I know about downloading content from third-party providers?

  Be cautious when purchasing from vendors you are not familiar with. Non-reputable companies may automatically enroll you in an ongoing subscription service. Subscription services are a fine way to purchase content so long as you are aware of the details — and you are clear on how to cancel it.

  If you purchased subscription-based content from a third-party vendor, please refer to the specific vendor’s Web site for cancelation instructions. (Often, these providers require that you reply STOP or QUIT to the short code that came with your game or app. This process varies, however, so please check with the provider first.)

• Will I incur data charges when I download content?

  Yes. Data charges (fees you pay whenever you access the Web from your phone) apply when you browse the Web or download any content to your phone. Downloading content charges can vary widely but often range from $2 to $3 in data access charges if you do not have a mobile Web plan.

  To save on data charges, sign up for a Web plan from CREDO Mobile. You'll pay a flat monthly fee for 1MB, 10MB or unlimited Web access each month. If you happen to go over your limit with one of our plans, you'll pay only 1¢ per kb. Without a Web plan, a standard data charge of 1¢ per kilobyte will apply to all your Web browsing and downloads.

  Costs for ringtones, games and other downloads will be indicated at time of purchase.

• I think I was billed in error for a purchase I couldn't download successfully. What can I do?

  If you didn't have a successful download, go ahead and try again. You will not be billed the price of the download for an additional attempt. However, data charges may apply. If you are still unable to complete the download, please call CREDO Mobile customer service at 800.411.0848.

• What is the difference between a one-time download and a subscription download for games and apps?

  For a one-time download, you will only be charged once to access the game or app, but you will have access to it for as long as the license is valid. The contents of the game or app will not be updated at any point, and the license may expire after a period of time. (To see if your download has an expiration date, please refer to the question, "What is 'My Content Manager,' and where can I find it?")

  Subscription downloads: You will be charged a flat monthly fee, which will be presented to you when you are shopping for subscription-based content.

• How do I unsubscribe from games and apps purchased from myContent?

  All downloaded and subscription-based content is managed within My Content Manager. Follow these steps to access My Content Manager and to successfully unsubscribe:

  1. From the main menu of your phone, select Downloads or My Content (depending on your phone's model).
  2. Select Games or Applications.
  3. Select the desired game or app you would like to unsubscribe from. A detailed description of the content will be displayed.
  4. Hit the Unsubscribe link displayed on the page.
  5. Select Confirm to cancel the subscription.
• How do I unsubscribe from games and apps purchased from outside vendors?

  If you purchased subscription-based content from a third-party vendor, please refer to the specific vendor’s Web site for cancelation instructions. (Often, these providers require that you reply STOP or QUIT to the short code that came with your game or app. This process varies, however, so please check with the provider first.)

  When purchasing downloads for your mobile phone, we strongly recommend browsing CREDO Mobile’s myContent store first. It is the safest and most trustworthy source for ringtones, screen savers, games and apps. We won’t automatically enroll you in a monthly subscription or surprise you with hidden fees like some providers. Plus, you can easily manage your downloads within the My Content Manager folder – right on your cell phone.

• Is there a way to block my child from downloading content on his or her phone?

  Yes. You may block all Web-browsing capabilities on a particular phone. (To block downloads, all Web-browsing functions must be blocked.) To block Web-browsing, please call CREDO Mobile customer service at 800.411.0848. You may also e-mail us at customerservice@credomobile.com. For your security, only the account holder or authorized user may request this service change.

• Is there a limit to how many ringtones and graphics I can download to my phone?

  There is no universal limit, though each phone does have a limited amount of storage space. Please consult your phone's user guide for information.

• Can I keep my current phone number?

  Absolutely. We'll switch your number over to a new CREDO Mobile phone for you. The switch will happen when you first sign up with us – and you don't even need to call your old provider to disconnect. If you're unsure whether you requested this service, please call CREDO Mobile customer service at 800.411.0848.

• Can I transfer my old, disconnected number to my new CREDO Mobile phone?

  No, the number must be active to switch carriers.

• How long will it take to transfer my mobile phone number?

  CREDO Mobile schedules the transfer of your phone number to begin after you receive your CREDO Mobile phone. It is important that you contact our customer service team at 800.411.0848 as soon as you receive your phone. The transfer process and activation of your new phone usually takes 5-10 minutes.

• Can I transfer my landline number to my new CREDO Mobile phone?

  Yes, landline-to-mobile transfers typically take a little longer to complete than mobile-to-mobile transfers. We work directly with landline carriers to make the process as efficient as possible.

roaming

• What is off-network roaming?

  Off-network roaming is the same as roaming. It occurs when you make calls while outside the service area of the nationwide digital Sprint® network. Some CREDO Mobile features may not be available when roaming on the networks of other wireless providers. All of our new plans include free domestic roaming. Any minutes used during roaming calls will be deducted from your monthly plan.

• How do I make a roaming call?

  Your phone will automatically search for alternative networks when you are outside the nationwide digital Sprint® network. Once your phone locates an alternative network, simply dial the area code and the seven-digit phone number. That's it. • Can I make long distance calls while roaming?

  Yes, long distance calls can be made while roaming but minutes used during this time will be deducted from your monthly plan.

• How are roaming calls billed?

  For all of our new plans, roaming calls are billed like other minutes; any minutes used during roaming calls will be deducted from your monthly plan according to time of day.

• How do long distance and local calling work with my mobile phone?

  Any call you make within your home service area is considered a local call. If you call outside your home service area, it's considered long distance. The difference with mobile is that your local area changes when you change locations. For example, if you are traveling in Seattle with your San Francisco-based phone, any call you make to a local Seattle number is considered a local call. If you make a call to San Francisco from Seattle, it is considered long distance, even though your service is based in San Francisco.

• My service plan offers long distance at no extra cost. Do I ever pay for long distance calls?

  You are not charged for long distance calls except in the following instances:

  • When all monthly service plan minutes have been used. You'll be charged a flat per-minute rate (which varies by plan) for all calls, whether local or long distance.
  • When you make an international call.
• Can I make international calls with my mobile phone?

• Can I use my mobile phone outside the United States?

  No, you can only use your mobile phone in the United States or while roaming on a partner network in Mexico or Canada. Some CREDO Mobile features may not be available when roaming.

• What is your mobile phone and/or equipment return policy?

  You may return your CREDO Mobile phone and accessories within 30 days of service activation. Phone accessories not purchased at service activation can be returned within 30 days of purchase.

  • Products must be returned undamaged in the original boxes.
  • All accessories, printed material and package inserts must be included with the products being returned.

  If all of the above conditions are met and the postmark on the returned equipment is within 30 days of service activation or date of purchase, CREDO Mobile will refund the purchase price of the equipment and waive early termination fees on terminated contracts.
