Donations and Activism gets results

We're never satisfied just talking about the environment. We're not about beautifying our press releases. Our mission is to get things done. Here are just a few of the things our donations and activism have recently helped to achieve:

• Pushed Congress to pass the first increase in fuel-economy standards in two decades
• Put a halt to 63 coal-fired power plants and lobbied Congress to renew tax breaks for clean energy
• Championed stricter catch limits for the oceans – enacted by the National Marine Fisheries Service in 2009
• Blocked a new toll road through California's pristine San Onofre State Beach
• Helped New Yorkers say no to the monstrous Broadwater LNG terminal slated for Long Island Sound, now scrapped
