Activation & Setup
When you receive your new Sanyo Zio PLS-8600 smartphone from CREDO Mobile, please wait to turn on the phone. Your battery has been preinstalled for your convenience, and we recommend that you charge the phone for a couple of hours before taking it with you. But you don't need to fully charge your phone before calling us.
When you're ready to activate, please use another phone to call our friendly customer service team at 800-411-0848. If you're transferring your phone number from any other phone, try not to call us from that phone either. Call us with a third phone and we'll start your transfer.
By default, your phone's Wi-Fi feature is turned off. With Wi-Fi turned on, you can connect to compatible in-range Wi-Fi networks for a fast connection speed. To turn on Wi-Fi:
- Press
> 
> Settings > Wireless & networks.
- Tap Wi-Fi to activate the feature. (A check mark indicates this feature is enabled.) The phone will scan for available in-range wireless networks.
- Tap Wi-Fi settings. The network names and security settings (open network or secured with WEP/WAP, etc.) of detected Wi-Fi networks are displayed in the Wi-Fi networks section.
- Tap a Wi-Fi network to connect to. If you select an open network, your phone will automatically be connected. If you select a network that is secured with WPA, WEP, etc., enter the security key (password), and then tap Connect.
- Press and hold an empty spot on the home screen or press > > Add. The Add to Home Screen window appears.
- Select the type of item you want to add:
- Shortcuts: Select to add a shortcut: Applications, Bookmark, Contact, Direct dial, Direct message, Directions & Navigation, Gmail label, Latitude, Music playlist, or Settings. (Most of these options will expand to let you choose specific items.)
- Widgets: Select to add a widget (a mini-version of an application) such as an analog clock, calendar, music player or power control.
- Folders: Select to add a folder to organize your home screen items.
- Wallpapers: Select Wallpaper Gallery to change the home screen's wallpaper. After selecting the image you want, tap Set wallpaper.
