Turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS when you’re not using them. None of these will impact your voice service. By default, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are turned off when you get your phone, so you’ll only need to turn these off if you turned them on yourself.
To turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth:
- From the home screen, swipe up the navigation bar or double-press the Menu key (
) to open the All panel if it’s closed.
- Scroll down and select Manage Connections (
).
- Uncheck Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth.
To turn off GPS:
- From the home Screen, swipe up the navigation bar or double-press the Menu key (
) to open the All panel if it’s closed.
- Scroll down and select Options (
) > Device > Location Settings.
- Tap the Location Services drop-down menu and select Location Off.
Close apps when you’re done using them by using the Escape key (
) rather than the End/Power
key (
), which leaves them running in the background.
