You'll need to call us to activate your phone. When your phone arrives, please wait to turn it on until asked to during the call. We recommend charging your phone for 30 minutes before calling us. (The battery is preinstalled.)
Please use another phone to call our customer service team at 800-411-0848. They'll walk you through everything and answer any questions.
Please note: If you're transferring the number from your current phone to your new phone, please don't use either phone when you call us. Once your number has transferred, you'll get a text message from us confirming that the transfer is complete.
All unanswered calls are automatically transferred to your voicemail, even if your phone is in use or turned off. You should set up your voicemail and personal greeting as soon as your phone is activated:
- From the home screen, tap
> Voicemail.
- You may get a What is Visual Voicemail? window. Tap Close to continue to setup.
- In the Personalize your voicemail window, tap Personalize now.
- Follow the voice prompts to create your 4–10 digit passcode and record your name and greeting.
We strongly recommend using a passcode to access voicemail. Without one, anyone who has access to your phone can access your messages and other services.
Connect to a Wi-Fi network for fast data speeds when you're checking email, browsing the web, downloading apps and more. By default, your phone's Wi-Fi feature is turned off. Turning it on allows your phone to find and connect to Wi-Fi networks.
To turn Wi-Fi on:
- From the home screen, press MENU > Settings > Wireless & networks.
- Tap the Wi-Fi check box to turn Wi-Fi on. (A check mark will appear.)
- Tap Wi-Fi settings. You'll see a list of available networks and their security settings (open network or secured with WEP, WPA, etc.) in the Wi-Fi networks section.
- Tap a Wi-Fi network to connect to. If you select an open network, your phone will automatically connect. For secured networks, enter the password and tap Connect.
If Wi-Fi is on, your phone will automatically remember and connect to the Wi-Fi network the next time you're in range. You can turn Wi-Fi on and off with just a tap of the Wi-Fi widget, which is preinstalled on the screen to the left of your home screen.
By default, the Bluetooth feature is turned off. To turn on Bluetooth and pair a headset:
- From the home screen, press MENU > Settings > Wireless & networks.
- Tap the Bluetooth check box to turn it on. (A check mark will appear.) When Bluetooth is active,
appears on the status bar.
- Tap Bluetooth settings.
Please note: Your headset must be in pairing mode so your phone can see it. Please review your headset's user guide for information on putting it in pairing mode.
- Tap Scan for devices. You'll see a list of discovered in-range Bluetooth devices.
- Tap the device you'd like to pair with, enter the passkey from your headset's user guide if it asks for one, and tap OK.
Please note: Activating Bluetooth can drain your battery faster. We recommend only turning it on when you need it.
