A Google (Gmail) account lets you sync your Google email, calendars and contacts wirelessly with your phone and access Google Play™, Google Talk™ and more. You can create a new Google account from the phone if you don't have one already.
Please note: Once you log in with your Google account, you won't be able to remove it unless you perform a factory reset on your phone.
To set up your first Gmail™ account:
- Press
> Applications
> Gmail.
- Tap Next on the Add a Google Account screen.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to sign in to an account or create a new one.
To set up additional Gmail accounts:
- From within the Gmail application, press
> Accounts > Add account.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Your phone's Email application lets you access and manage multiple email accounts in one convenient location.
To set up a web-based email account, such as Yahoo, Hotmail or AOL:
- Press
> Applications
> Email.
- Enter your email address and password.
- Tap Next to continue. The phone will try to automatically set up your account. With some types of email, you may need to provide more information.
- Once your account is set up, enter a name for the account (optional) and your name (shown in outgoing messages) and tap Done.
To set up additional personal email accounts:
- From within the Email application, tap the account name in the top left corner.
- Press
and tap Add account.
- Follow steps 2–4 above.
Exchange ActiveSync is usually used to sync corporate email, contacts and calendars wirelessly. To set it up, your IT department will need to provide you with settings for their Exchange server. You'll need your username and password plus the Exchange Server's server address, SSL settings and domain to connect.
Please note: Not all companies provide Exchange ActiveSync access, and without your IT department's settings, CREDO Mobile technical support won't be able to assist you in configuring Exchange ActiveSync.
- Press
>
> Settings.
- Tap Accounts and sync > Add account > Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
- Enter your company email address and password. Tap
then Next.
- You may get a pop-up about privacy. Read it and tap OK if you wish to continue.
- If asked, provide the domain and SSL settings for the account and tap Next.
- If you get a message that setup couldn't finish, tap Edit details and check that all your information is correct, including the Exchange server. Tap Next when you're done.
- Depending on your company's security settings, you may need to activate remote security administration.
- Choose your account options and tap Next.
- Add a name to your account if you'd like and tap Done.
- You may get a notification to activate the device administrator and set a password for your phone. Pull the status bar all the way down to view your notifications, tap Update security settings then Activate.
In the Gmail app:
- From your inbox, press
> Compose.
- Tap the To field and enter an email address or the name of one of your contacts. Matching contacts will appear in a list below. Tap one to fill in the address.
- Tap Subject and enter a subject line.
- Tap Compose Mail and enter your message.
- When you're done, tap
at the top of the screen.
In the Email app:
- From your inbox, tap
in the top right corner of your screen.
- Enter an email address or the name of one of your contacts in the To field. Matching contacts will appear in a list below. Tap one to fill in the address.
- Tap Subject and enter a subject line.
- Tap the main text field and enter your message.
- When you're done, tap Send.
In the Gmail app:
Tap the account name in the top right corner and choose the account you want to view.
In the Email app:
Tap the account name in the top left corner and choose the account you want to view. You can also choose All inbox to view one unified inbox.
When you get a new email, your phone will alert you with a notification in the status bar and a sound notification.
To turn notifications off in the Email app:
From your Email inbox, press
> More > Account Settings.
To turn off the sound notifications only, tap Select ringtone > Sounds > Silent (at the top) > OK.
